Hellertown-Lower Saucon Heritage Day!

A joint Hellertown-Lower Saucon Heritage Day is planned for May 18 beginning at 10AM through 3PM, rain or shine, with Hellertown Historical Society, Lower Saucon Township Historical Society, Saucon Rail Trail and Saucon Valley Conservancy-Michael Heller Homestead. Both Hellertown Historical Society and Michael Heller Homestead sites will be open on this day with Lower Saucon Township Historical Society at the Hellertown Historical Site. Hellertown Historical Society is located at 150-170 West Walnut Street Hellertown PA 18055. The Saucon Valley Conservancy-Michael Heller Homestead is located at 1892 Friedensville Road Bethlehem PA 18055. Both sites are within a short walk of each other via the Saucon Rail Trail. This event is free to attend, all are welcome and free off-street parking may be found at and near each site and at Water Street Park adjacent to the Saucon Rail Trail Water Street Access. All four organizations will present various historic activities and displays based on their respective interests. Learn how our early settlers in the area lived and worked. There will be live animals for demos and petting, free horse-drawn carriage rides, tours of the historic buildings, raffles and much more. Everyone’s appetite will be satisfied by Geakers Tacos food truck on site at Hellertown’s historic Heller-Wagner Grist Mill site and Jaquelyn’s on Main at the Heller Homestead. Many of the activities are family-friendly fun for children.

HHS @ Music in the Park

Come out to Dimmick Park June 23 from 6PM-8PM for the first warm summer evening of musical entertainment. The Billy Bauer Band will be hitting the stage pounding out the tunes while Hellertown Historical Society volunteers will man the grills pounding out some awesome food in the park pavilion.
While menu is still in the planning stages, we expect to offer hot dogs, hamburger BBQ, sausage sandwiches and more.
Bring your lawn chairs and set up in front of the stage to meet old friends and make new ones while enjoying music and great food!
