Hellertown Historical Society Membership Information & Application
Membership fees and generous donations have allowed the major restoration of the circa 1700’s Heller-Grist Mill and the 1860 “Pony” bridge, a cast and wrought iron bridge that once spanned the Saucon Creek.
Funds further provided for the construction of a new barn in 2005, restoration of Hellertown’s First Jail and much-needed major maintenance items for the current historic buildings. Also provided were minor updates to the Grist Mill, the 1800’s Miller’s House, which serves as the Society’s Offices and the Tavern Room, a lower-level period-decor facility in the Grist Mill which is available to use for day and evening events – see information about this facility on the Tavern Room page.
Membership within the Hellertown Historical Society is open to all persons who have a passion for Hellertown’s history and the ambition to donate time and energy to support and preserve it.
Members help to maintain and enhance the buildings, grounds, exhibits, education and entertainment programs, on-going research, events, newsletters, fund-raising activities, historical artifacts, documents, photographs and much, much more.
Our members and volunteers are the backbone of the Organization.
All members receive a free subscription to the Society’s Newsletter which is published four times annually and free admission to many of the Society’s Events.
