Heritage Day 2026 - Event Review

Heritage Day is an annual celebration of the history and culture of the Borough of Hellertown and surrounding Lower Saucon Township. The event is sponsored by the Hellertown and Lower Saucon historical societies and the Saucon Valley Conservancy.

Heritage Day 2026 was held May 16 at two locations: the 1761 Heller-Wagner Grist Mill Complex off West Walnut Street in south Hellertown, and the Michael Heller Homestead along Saucon Creek, adjacent to the Water Street Bridge connecting Hellertown and Lower Saucon Township.

Heritage Day was expanded in 2026 to honor the 250th anniversary, also known as the semiquincentennial, of the founding of the United States.

Thank you to all the donors who helped this become a reality with their generous donations and in-kind services. Their support and commitment keeps this a free event for all to enjoy.

Thank you the many antique/classic vehicle owners who brought their most prized vehicles to recognize the impact of the industrial revolution on our country’s growth.

Thank you also to the many attendees who came to enjoy the various living history exhibits, community groups, musical entertainment and talented artisans who provided a sense of historic significance to the founding of our greater Saucon Valley area.

Planning is already underway for next year’s event which will be held on May 15, 2027.
