These Terms and Conditions govern use of the Hellertown Historical Society website and purchases made through it. By using the website or placing an order, you agree to the applicable terms. Please review event descriptions and purchase conditions before completing a transaction.
Using the website
Use the website lawfully and provide accurate information. Do not attempt unauthorized access, interfere with website operation, submit malicious code, or misuse forms or payment services. Purchases must be completed by an adult who is authorized to use the selected payment method.
If an account is available and you create one, keep your login information secure and notify us of suspected unauthorized use.
Orders and payment
Tickets and other offerings are subject to availability. Review your selected event, date, ticket quantities, eligibility for discounts, and final total before submitting payment. Prices and any applicable taxes or fees are shown during ordering. Payment options may include Stripe, PayPal, Authorize.net, or Shift4, as displayed for your transaction.
An order or payment confirmation does not replace event-specific admission requirements. Contact us promptly if you notice an error or do not receive expected order information. If a material pricing or availability error affects an order, we will contact you to resolve it, including cancellation and a refund where appropriate.
Cancellations and refunds
For public tours, cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled tour to receive a refund.
Other events, products, and services may have different cancellation, refund, transfer, or attendance conditions. The terms disclosed for the specific purchase at the time of ordering apply. If no policy is stated, contact HHS before purchasing for clarification.
If HHS cancels or reschedules an event, we will provide purchasers with information about the available refund or rescheduling options using the contact details supplied with the order. Nothing in these terms limits refund rights required by applicable law.
Tours and event attendance
Review event information for arrival times, accessibility, age requirements, and other participation details. Follow posted rules and instructions from HHS staff and volunteers to protect visitors, historic buildings, and collections. Contact us before your visit to discuss accommodation needs.
Rentals and other Society activities
Tavern Room rentals, memberships, donations, and other Society activities may be subject to separate terms or written agreements. A rental inquiry or a date displayed on an online calendar does not itself confirm a reservation. Confirm availability and booking requirements directly with HHS.
Historical materials and intellectual property
Website text, photographs, videos, graphics, logos, and other materials may be owned by HHS or used with permission from their rights holders. You may view the website and make copies for personal, noncommercial reference, subject to any stated restrictions. Contact HHS about other reproduction or publication uses.
Some historical materials may be in the public domain or subject to separate rights. These terms do not restrict fair use or other rights provided by law. Historical content reflects available sources and may be corrected or expanded as additional information becomes available.
Information you submit
Submit only information and materials you are authorized to share. Providing a photograph, document, or other historical item through a general inquiry does not by itself establish a donation, transfer copyright, or create a separate archival agreement. Contact HHS to discuss formal donations, permissions, or collection arrangements.
Third party services
Our website may link to or include services provided by payment companies, Yelp, social platforms, maps, calendars, or other organizations. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy notices. HHS does not control their content, availability, or practices.
Privacy and cookies
Our Privacy Policy explains how website information is collected, used, and shared. Cookie Settings allows you to manage optional cookies. Agreement to these terms does not substitute for your separate cookie choices.
Website availability and limitations
We make reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and the website available, but errors, interruptions, and technical problems can occur. To the extent permitted by law, the website and its informational content are provided as available, without warranties of uninterrupted service or complete accuracy.
To the extent permitted by law, HHS is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from website use. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. These limitations do not remove mandatory consumer rights.
Applicable law and updates
These terms are governed by Pennsylvania law, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
We may update these terms by posting a revised version and updating the date. Changes apply prospectively and do not retroactively change the purchase conditions for an existing order.
